Wattles

Cutaneous structures in chickens and guinea fowl (paired), in turkeys and some geese (unpaired); with thick dermis and rich vascularization; suspended on the lower cheeks and neck; strongly developed in roosters; the **size and shape** of wattles are breed‑standard specific; in geese the wattle is feathered and is more a skin duplication than a separate structure.
