Highly acute, contagious viral disease of gallinaceous birds worldwide, very similar in signs to classical fowl plague; clinically shows fever, somnolence, diarrhea, dyspnea with cyanotic comb and wattles, convulsions; mortality is nearly 100%; prevention is by vaccination.
